“I’m here. I’m with you” Room
“I’m here. I’m with you” is the mantra Mama tells Markus during his seizures or nightmares since he was 4 months old. It became his security churinga. He places canvases with these words all around the house and places himself into a safe capsule of Mama’s care. Mama is his guide-dog without whom he is helpless.
Just like Iranian carpets or Chinese dragons, these pictures are a traditional part of Martinovitch family culture. No flat or house of Markus’s is possible without it.
Since hyperbolas and repetitions are Markus’s favorite techniques, he decided to exaggerate the whole idea of security. He creates a purely white cubic room full of white items with words “I’m here. I’m with you”.
Security is one of the main human necessities. We seek it when lock the door, when we save money, when we avoid conflictive people. We spend half of our life providing security to ourselves and our children.
Markus wants you to step into the world of his security. He wants you to feel his need for being safe.
The room can be presented as just a little bedroom or as a full flat or house. The phases can be done in different languages.
